Microneedling

Microneeding using InnoPen Helps in Many Ways

Microneedling, also called percutaneous collagen induction therapy, is performed with a electrically powered device, with tiny needles that make precise, microscopic punctures in the skin. These “micro-injuries” do not leave scars; they work by helping to stimulate the skin to repair itself naturally through a process called dermal remodeling. This process starts with inflammation, which stimulates the skin to produce new collagen (the elastic fibers that make skin tight, smooth, and youthful). Collagen levels in the skin decline as we age, and new collagen can be produced when the skin is in repair mode.

How many treatments will depend on each individual. Typically a series of 3 is recommended but it is also recommended in single session treatments for prevention & anti-aging. Through out microneedling it can increase elastic skin fibers. Microneedling also helps the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin), which naturally thins with age, become thicker and tauter.

FAQ’s

How long does it take to see results?

Approximately 48 to 72 hours after the treatment you’ll have an increase in collagen production. It takes at least four weeks to see noticeable results.

How long does it last?

The new collagen will last for several years. Which is why micro needling treatment is considered a very long lasting treatment. tThat is also why continued treatments are recommended to keep and continue your results.

*According to a 2008 study, skin treated with four microneedling sessions spaced one month apart produced up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin six months after completing treatment.

How often or many are recommended?

Micro-needling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For collagen induction we recommend to start with 3 treatments, but with a minimum separation time of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. For scar reduction an average of 3 to 6 treatments are recommended. There are many factors to determine the amount of treatments needed.

Does it hurt?

It’s a Quick, Zero to Low-Pain-Level Procedure. Since numbing cream is applied you typically only feel it on the thinner areas of the face, such as the forehead, or jawline. If it is painful then you should let your provider know.

What can I expect after treatment?

It is virtually a “no down time” procedure. A slight redness that subsides within 24 hours is most common but it varies. The treatment settings and your skin type determine the after.
